Berry is the chairperson of the Enkanini Research Centre, located within the informal settlement of Enkanini, Stellenbosch. The Centre is a satellite research facility of the Sustainability Institute of the University of Stellenbosch that guides transdisciplinary research process to include community participants as co-researchers. Berry focused his masters in sustainable development on Enkanini to co-produce socio-technical interventions with the co-researchers.
